Scotland! Scotland!

Let's see warfare between Scotland and England!

As what you can watch here, I spent my Sunday at a place full of hatred.

I went to Bothwell Castle, a 13th century castle located 20 km from Glasgow. The show of King Robert Bruce and the Knights of Scotland was held there. Time went back to 700 years ago when Robert Bruce was finally crowned King of Scots at Scone. As we all know crown always came with blood, so a lot of fights I watched. The video clip above was one of them.

When I heard the screams of “Scotland! Scotland!” and the boos to England, I really curious why the little children also hate English so much? Do they understand the history between Scotland and England that clear? Maybe this is so-called patriotism.

'Prejudice' is something we learned from our parents since we're very very young. Sometimes, our parents tend to threat us by using words like "nasi-lu-bo-guai, heilei-kay-leng-na do-eh-lai-diaklu!!", haha! That's why-lah! No need to belajar from history one.

Maybe Scottish parents will told their kids, "If you don't behave well, those Englishman over-c will come and catch you", or even 'eat you', haha! :D

Hahaha... You're right.
That's why I warned my mum not to tell my niece, "Nei nei lai zuo ni liao."
But it's hard, you know.
Even though we are so alert already, but my niece still says, "Nie Nie lai liao, Ning Ning pa pa." :(
Don't know where she learned this.

What is 'jiahui'?!

For me, mata is even scarier than oh-neh-neh! Imagine kopi dripping down from their lips, like KOPI-VAMPIRE! Ee-yak!

I also dunno what is "jiahui"...

Kopi drips down from mata's lips and drops on the big table in mata chu.
Big tables are very important, can hide many things under it.

她应该没有这么红吧?
哎哟!哎哟!被她的fans打了,快救我。

There are still many Scots who deliberately support England's opposition in the world cup, regardless of who England are playing against. It's more rivalry than racism I would say.

So do you worry your kids will become "typical" Scottish?

In many ways they are already 'Scottish', wait till you meet them. ;)

Luckily I'm not English, otherwise I dare not to meet your kids.

Oh, not in that sense. They have no racial preference, but speak like Glaswegians.

I can imagine it.

I read a news in the newspaper last month: a 10 year-old boy in Edinburgh was beaten as he wore England football team's jersey during World Cup.
Really scaring...
So I keep my T-shirt which got the pattern of English Flag in my cupboard now.
:(
