West End Festival

Glasgow’s West End Festival is held in the summer every year. There are a lot of programmes in West End Festival, i.e. theatre and dance, music, exhibitions, films, comedy, walks and going out. West End Festival Parade is the most important event during West End Festival and I like it most too.

I have been to the West End Festival Parade three times since I arrived in Glasgow. The parade normally starts at the Botanic Gardens which is just 10 minutes walking distance from my place. The parade marches along Byres Road for 45 minutes to Dumbarton Road or Kelvingrove Park. Even though it is just a small parade, but it shows the good effect of people live in Glasgow, especially people from the West End of Glasgow. More important for me, it’s the only day in a year people can walk in the busy Byres Road.

I think the parade I watched last Sunday will be the last one before I leave Glasgow. Therefore, I share some photos with you all to show you the so-called Glaswegians’parade.

Is the flower float parade still held in KL?

When I was a secondary school student, I took part in the parade twice as I was a member of school band.

I still remember a lot of beautiful floats from different companies took part in that parade.

The parade started at Dataran Merdeka and marched to Jalan Ipoh.

It was really fantastic!

I never watch such parade at KL, it's so unpleasant to stand for a couple of hours under the hot sun ..
It's different from the parades overseas, the weather is cool ..ha ..

Haha, it seems like you were standing under the hot sun ..almost forget, it's warmly and sunny summer!

Lovely photos!

I saw the "Flight Centre" shop in the photos, the design of the signboard looks different from Australian "Flight Centre", it looks coarse ..Australian one looks better *.*

747, yea, it was sunny last Sunday.
First time I felt my skin was burning by the sunshine in Glasgow.
Anyway, it's not humid here, so won't sweat a lot.
